The Bouquet of Genovese Storico DOP Genovese Basil

The fresh “Genovese Storico” PDO Genovese Basil is harvested daily according to the traditional manual technique, in which each single plant is uprooted from the ground with the whole root and collected in a bouquet of 30/100 plants, with the root part, complete with soil, protected inside a small bundle in PDO headed paper, which identifies its origin and quality. Each basil leaf of the bouquet has a medium-small size, with an oval and convex shape, of a pale green colour.

To distinguish its value in a decisive way are the organoleptic properties that the “Genovese Storico” Basil manages to express, in particular the tenderness and the intense and characteristic aroma without any scent of mint, with an aromaticity that we find perfectly intact and circular even in the palate.

The basil is first placed in bags, then in rigid packaging and sent for same-day shipment. The harvesting and packaging system allows the use of fresh basil up to five days after harvest.

Frozen Cream with Storico Genovese PDO Genovese Basil

The “Genovese Storico” PDO Genovese Basil is harvested daily in the greenhouse in order to guarantee the best quality and is processed on the same day. Upon arrival in the laboratory, it is prepared and mixed with invert sugar.

Blast chilling at low temperature keeps its colour, aroma and flavour unchanged. The scent is intense and characteristic without any note of mint, with an aromaticity that we find perfectly intact and circular even on the palate, capable of a unique and irreplaceable persistence.

This processing technique allows its optimal conservation for many days.
